Denne spanskfødte, italienske dirigenten har nettopp denne sesongen debutert ved statsoperaen i Berlin med Verdis Maskeballet og ved Pariser-operaen med Rossinis Askepott, samtidig som han gjennomførte sin siste sesong som første gjestedirigent ved Deutsche Oper i Berlin. Blant symfoniorkestrene han har ledet er Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, og Oslo-filharmonien. Andre høydepunkter har vært debuten ved Salzburg-festspillene, Wiener Staatsoper og den nederlandske nasjonal-operaen. Hans diskografi omfatter flere titall opptak.
During the 2025-26 season Mazzola made debuts at Staatsoper Berlin with Verdi’s Un ballo in Maschera and at Opera de Paris with Rossini´s La Cenerentola. At the Lyric Opera he led productions of Medea, Cavalleria rusticana, and Cosi fan tutte. At the same time, this season marked his final engagement as principal guest conductor at Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he led a production of Macbeth and closed the season with Madama Butterfly. Also, he returned to New National Theatre Tokyo with Madama Butterfly and made debuts at the Aspen festival with La Boheme and at Grand Teton-festivalen.
