Den unge mannen fra Nesodden hadde en så enestående CV da han søkte stillingen som konsertmester i Atlanta Sympony i 2010 at han vant i konkurranse med over 200 kandidater, og ble yngstemann i hele USA til å ha en slik oppgave. Han hadde begynt å spille da han var tre og utdannet seg blant annet ved Curtis Institute, Juilliard og Guildhall. Nå spiller han takket være Sveaas-stiftelsen på en Stradivari fra 1725, er også kunstnerisk leder ved Kon Tiki-festivalen i Oslo, og har hatt en mengde solistoppgaver, også med BBC-symfonien, Bergen-filharmonien og Oslo-filharmonien. David var solist med Atlanta-symfonien i CD-en som fikk en Grammy i 2015. Han hadde gjort sin første innspilling sammen med sin søster, pianisten Julie: «Debut». De er begge ivrige kammermusikere og har vunnet flere priser sammen.
David Coucheron from Oslo started playing the violin when he was three. In his early 20´s he already had a bachelor degree from the Curtis Institute and master degrees from Juilliard and Guildhall when he won the position as concert master of the Atlanta Symphony in competition with over 200 applicants, and became the youngest concert master ever with a major American orchestra. Touring the world he also plays as a soloist and gives recitals. He was the soloist with the Atlanta Symphony when they made the recording that won a Grammy in 2015. David is also a very keen chamber musician. His first CD, “Debut”, 2002, was recorded together with his sister, the pianist Julie Coucheron. Their second joint recording, “David and Julie”, 2008, was highly praised by critics all round the world.
