Bengt Forsberg

03.14.2019

Piano

---

He may be best known for his collaboration with the mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter. Among their most acclaimed recordings is a recital of songs composed in the Terezin concentration camp during WWII. Last  year, they released the multinational recital “A Simple Song.” But Bengt Forsberg, who at first wanted to become an organist but was drawn to the piano, is a versatile artist who has also specialized in promoting the works of composers that had been mostly forgotten, or were considered difficult and unfamiliar. Among his recordings with other musicians are works by Amanda Maier with violinist Cecilia Zilliacus and music by York Bown with British violist James Boyd.
